Welcome

The Reading Knee Unit was established by Sean O'Leary in 2009 to enable patients’ access to appropriately skilled professionals / consultants to understand and treat their particular knee condition. This process should include information on your condition, the potential outcome of any procedures and surgery by appropriately skilled consultants.

In January 2013 he was joined by Nev Davies who brings a special interest and expertise in children’s and adolescent knee conditions as well as treating adult knee problems.

Both Sean and Nev consult and operate at Circle Reading Hospital and offer a comprehensive and complete surgical service including:

Arthroscopic knee surgery - including meniscal repair and microfracture
Ligament reconstruction (ACL/PCL/MCL/PLC)
Patella stabilisation procedures
Knee ‘realignment’ procedures (Osteotomy)
Minimally invasive, Unicompartmental and Total Knee Replacements

Circle Reading Hospital offers on site x-ray, MRI, physiotherapy anda gait analysis / Orthotics service to accommodate rapid diagnosis and early intervention where required for all acute and chronic sporting injuries.

This website provides information regarding specific conditions and procedures – including the recommended post-operative rehabilitation - information on outcomes of surgery (National Registry information) and images and videos of similar procedures undertaken by Sean and Nev.

You can also send specific enquiries to the unit (Enquiries/Contact) and the website provides information for your GP to refer for an appointment (by fax). If you require any further information please read the Patient Information page.
